More Than a Match
About this project
Together, the Bush Institute and ONE Campaign brought the story on connections between the host countries and countries of Africa to life through an interactive experience that showcases the depth of their relationships. North America and Africa have a powerful relationship built through trade partnerships, educational and cultural exchanges, and innovative collaborations.
Data sources varied by country.
- For the U.S., trade and first-generation African diaspora data came from the U.S. Census Bureau at the state level, while Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) came from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
- For Canada, Statistics Canada provided trade and first-generation African diaspora at the provincial and territorial level. Note: first-generation African diaspora figures were compiled by aggregating electoral riding data within each province and territory.
- For Mexico, state-level trade data came from the Secretaría de Economía (Ministry of Economy).
